Robert C. Fitzgerald Jr

–

Colonial Heights, Virginia

Robert Carter Fitzgerald, Jr. was born on December 15, 1950, in Richmond, Virginia, to the late Robert Carter Fitzgerald, Sr. and Frances Amanda Fitzgerald. He accepted Christ at an early age and was educated in the Richmond Public Schools, graduating from Armstrong High School. Robert continued his education at St. Paul’s College in Lawrenceville, Virginia, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Robert devoted 27 years of faithful service to Philip Morris, where he worked as a supervisor in the Information Technology Department before retiring. His strong work ethic, dedication, and thoughtful approach to both his professional and personal life were a source of great pride for his family and colleagues.

Above all else, Robert cherished his family. He deeply treasured time spent with his daughter, son-in-law, and grandsons, and he rarely missed an opportunity to support his grandsons at basketball games and track meets. Family vacations held a special place in his heart, as they allowed him to create lasting memories with those he loved most.

Robert had a deep appreciation for music, particularly jazz and reggae, and enjoyed reading and staying informed by following the news. He also took great interest in stock trading and investments, finding satisfaction in learning, analyzing trends, and planning for the future. In quieter moments, he delighted in simple pleasures—browsing Amazon, shopping for hats, and watching infomercials—activities that brought him joy and often a warm smile.

Robert will be remembered for his wisdom, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to family. His life reflected the values of hard work, lifelong learning, and steadfast love, leaving a legacy that will endure for generations.

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:21 (KJV)
