Irvin Brooks, Sr. of Richmond, was called home on February 19, 2016, to rest after a gradual decline in health. He leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Linda Spellman, Cynthia Brooks; son, Irvin Brooks Jr. (Carrie); devoted friend and companion, Dolores Anderson, and her daughters, Vera Carter, Joyce Anderson, Annette Anderson; granddaughters, Janice Spellman, Nakeisha Brooks, Lanee Brooks, Renee Brooks, Michaela Brooks, Makana Brooks; grandsons, Jerome Spellman (Pamela) and Jeffrey Brooks Jr.; great-granddaughter, Taylor Brooks; great-grandsons, Markel Spellman, Jarel Spellman, Tyler Spellman; extended family, Montrell Washington, Tarsha Anderson, Jamar Anderson, Gail Robinson, Alonzo Anderson, Alonda Anderson, and their children; sisters, Shirley Thomas(Roy), Geraldine Armstead (Herbert), Carolyn Brooks; sister-in-law, Sylvia Brooks; numerous nieces and nephews; a host of neighbors and friends. Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St., Richmond, Va., where funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2016. Interment Maury Cemetery.
