Dorothea L. Hicks

Dorothea Linda Hicks, affectionately known as "Dot" amongst family and friends, was born on December 5, 1955 to the late Doctor Elliotte, Sr. and Pearl Epps Elliotte. She entered peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, after a brief stay at Bons Secours-Southside Medical Center.

Dot received Christ at a young age in Amelia County, Virginia. She was educated in the Richmond Public Schools System. She was a devoted employee of Betty Brite Cleaners for several years, and she later transitioned to AS Vanguard Plastics, Incorporated. Dot will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her excellent cooking and baking skills-especially her sweet potato pie, her eye for fashion and her enjoyment of a good game of cards. In addition, she absolutely adored listening to her favorite song Shining Star, and anything else performed by the Manhattans.

Dot leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She was preceded in death by her parents, Doctor Elliotte, Sr. and Pearl Epps Elliotte; siblings, Doctor "Junie" Elliotte, Darnell Elliotte, Michael Elliotte and nephew Christopher Elliotte. She leaves to cherish her memory long-time companion William "Bill" Avent; stepsons, Michael and Anthony Moore; siblings, Pearline Woods (Cornelious), Sandra Winfree, Flora "Papoose" Elliotte, Larry Mable, Cassandra Griffin, and Alice Elliotte; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loved ones.
